KioSoft Payment Solution Vulnerability

KioSoft, a payment solutions company, 

took a long time to fix a serious NFC security vulnerability that affected some of its NFC-based cards, according to a cybersecurity consulting firm



KioSoft 

produces unattended self-service payment devices for the vehicle washes, laundry, vending machines. The KioSoft have branches in many countries, the company is headquartered in Florida. According to its website, it has installed 1.6 million payment terminals and more than 41,000 kiosks in 35 countries. 

KioSoft Payment Solution Vulnerability was also discussed by Security Week and share good insight on NFC encryption weaknesses. Vulnerable NFC cards are used in certain KioSoft "Stored Value" Unattended Payment Solutions. This vulnerability might allow attackers to alter card balances and make money. An unsecure MiFare Classic NFC card holds the account balance, which is readable and writeable. Software Houses need to work on secure coding that can stop NFC payment fraud prevention, NFC skimming attacks or NFC card cloning risks
